William John Franklin (Bill) Seal, age 74 of Sneedville passed away on Feb. 23rd, 2025. Born October 22, 1950. Bill was a well-loved member of the community and friend to many.
Bill was a hardworking and generous man. He spent the past 17 years serving as the Hancock County Property Assessor, where he arrived early to make the coffee and stayed late to lock the doors. Besides being known for his hard work, he is probably best known for his generosity. Almost everyone he encountered had the same thing to say, “he was so-good to me.” His acts of kindness and generosity are too many to list and he leaves behind a legacy of good deeds and selfless service.
Bill is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Shara Alexander (Porter; granddaughters, Kate and Liza Alexander; sister, Margaret Drinnon, several nieces and a nephew, and several great nieces/nephews, as well as many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Mae Seal, son Gavin Seal, sisters Faye Diamond and Barbara Mullins.
A private graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Seal cemetery on March 8th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The family will host a Celebration of Life and fish fry on April 26th, 2025 from 2-5 at Out on the Creek Venue- 274 Obie St. Sneedville, TN 37869
