Vergil Scot McKinnon, 82, of Waycross, Georgia, passed away on March 4, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester McKinnon; his mother, Rhoda Rowland; his brothers, Clarence, Winifred, and Oscar; his sisters, Dorothy, Vernie, and Annette; and his beloved daughter, Sheila McKinnon.
Vergil is survived by his loving wife, Chitra McKinnon; daughters, Christine Conroy and Priya Sell; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was also blessed with the friendship and fellowship of many special friends from The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Vergil had a deep love for his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He also had a special place in his heart for his pets. A skilled woodworker, he had a remarkable talent for creating and building things, leaving behind many beautiful pieces that serve as a testament to his craftsmanship and dedication.
His kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for those around him will never be forgotten.
The family will be planning a service for a later date.
