Valerie Jane Grooms

Valerie Jane Grooms, age 67, passed away December 9th 2023 at her home in Morristown TN. She was born on December 17, 1955 in Newport, TN and was a resident of Morristown for 50 years. Valerie had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her witty and outspoken phrases.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Caldona Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Lamar Looney and companion April Hassell and Cassie Looney, and daughter, Laquesta Grooms; grandchildren, Makayla (Gerrian) Caslin, Keairra Robinson, Isaiah Stephens, Jailynn Looney, Ciara Looney, Nevaeh Looney, Camara Looney; sister, Manzanita Sutton; cousins; June (George) Toby, and her lifelong friend, Donald Jackson.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
