Rose Marie Mangum, 86, our precious mother, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2023. She is the daughter of Peter and Mary Yandura Jablonski and was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 17, 1936. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Rose was deeply loved by her family who adored her. She married the love of her life, James Larry Mangum, and moved to Tennessee for the remainder of her life. She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She worked at Bristol Memorial Hospital for many years until she retired to care for her in-laws. She spent her life serving others. She enjoyed her pets, reading, laughing, and visits from family. She was greatly loved by all who met her. Her devotion to her family is greatly admired.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Jablonski; her husband, James Larry Mangum; a sister, Betty Lou Wheekly; a brother, Theodore Jablonski; and two grandsons, James Charles (Charlie) Mangum and Dustin Dwight Mason.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Dr. Larry M. Mangum, Morristown, TN; three daughters: Karen Rochelle (Barry), Gray, TN; Kathy Angle (Mike), Talbot, TN; Becky Mason (Bryan), Piney Flats, TN; a sister, Josephine Failla, Macomb, Michigan; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Gayle Mangum (Susan), Chattanooga, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Morristown Hamblen Hospital and University of TN Medical Center Hospice nurses for their great care.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Rochelle, Samuel Mangum, John Mark Mangum, Michael Lyons, Gayle Mangum, and Bryan Mason.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 27, 2023 from 5-7 P.M. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Mitch Evans officiating. Graveside services will be at noon, Central Time; 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Dekalb Memorial Gardens in Smithville, TN.
