Roberta Barber Obituary

Roberta Ann Barber, 88 of Dandridge, TN went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2025. She is proceeded in death by her parents Robert and Margaret Simpson, husband Bill Barber, sister Barbara Jean (Jack) Mallen, daughter Pam Bugg, and son-in-law John Williams. She is survived by her children, Nancy Williams, Robert (Charlene) Barber, Paula (Kenny) Brown, Dennis (Rose) Barber, Susan (Patrick) Dunn, son-in-law Ollie Bugg, sister Betty (Dave) Crandall, 18 grandchildren, 37 great and 2 great-great grandchildren.

While traveling has always been something she enjoyed, some of her fondest memories were camping with her grandpa and hunting for gold in the dessert. She was known to enjoy a good shopping adventure, buying and selling at yard sales, cooking Mexican food (especially tamales with the family), and trips to the casino (mostly with her sister). We aren’t sure she met a slot machine that she didn’t like. Even if it wasn’t a winning day, she was ready for her next trip.

She was a mother and grandmother to all, including friends and family. She couldn’t have been a better, sweeter patient to her caregivers at Jefferson Park White Pine, Amedysis Hospice, or any other healthcare worker who provided care along her journey. We are grateful to each of you.

She taught us all how to fight and survive as she faced and overcame several hardships in her life. We couldn’t have a better example of resilience. She didn’t let any of those challenges impact her attitude toward others.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Phoenix, Arizona, where she will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
