Rev. Ira Calvin Gardner, “Junior,” born October 31, 1948, to Ira Gardner, Sr. and Claire in Randolph County, Indiana.
Junior was saved at a young age, faithfully served the Lord as pastor and board member for the Tennessee/Kentucky district of the Wesleyan Church. With the majority of that time as pastor of the Morristown Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jackie Reagan.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma; daughters, Mary (Donnie) Purkey, Karen (Kenny) Fleshman; grandchildren, Seth (Sarah) Fleshman, Courtney (Travis) Crosby, Benjamin (Jenna) Fleshman, Caytlin (Dylan) Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Brantley, Brycen, Palmer, Levi, Hendon, Winnie, Lillie, Jillian; brother, Keith (Cindy) Gardner; along with a host of family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Caris Hospice “Keep on Keeping on.”
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Morristown Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Marlin Hotle and Rev. Donnie Purkey officiating. Interment will be Monday, August 18, 2025 at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
