Rebecca Josephine (Becky Jo) Moles, aged 67, of Morristown, TN, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. She was with her loving husband in her final moments. Becky Jo was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Murrell and Joan Weesner.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Randy Moles, who stood by her side throughout their journey together. She is also survived by her caring sisters: Susan West, Mary Ellen (Kirk) Horner, and Winnie (Marty) Seals, and sister-in-law Sandi (Frank) Gerjevic. Becky Jo will be deeply missed by her nieces, Kelley Taylor and Erin Sublette, and nephews, James West, Matthew Seals, Christopher Seals, Nicholas Gerjevic, and Joseph Gerjevic. Additionally, she leaves behind five great-nieces and a nephew, as well as her PEO sisters, with whom she shared cherished bonds of sisterhood.
Becky Jo's life will be celebrated and remembered fondly by all who knew her. She was deeply involved in the Morristown community, participating in local plays, storytelling, and church activities. She was a tremendous supporter of Morristown Hamblen High School East. Becky Jo was an enthusiastic local historian and was currently planning the sesquicentennial of her great-grandfather’s patent of the “Great American Flying Machine.”
A proud graduate of Morristown East Class of 1975 and Tusculum College Class of 1979, Becky Jo was a lifelong learner and teacher. She worked for over forty years as a substitute teacher for Hamblen County Schools and collaborated with her husband, Randy, in the antique business. Recently, she served as the director of Keep Morristown-Hamblen Beautiful, organizing community events and educating school children on community improvement and beautification.
Becky Jo was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Morristown. She sang in the choir, led and participated in vacation Bible Schools, served as a church elder, and was a faithful follower of Christ. She also contributed her time and talents to the Girl Scouts, shared her crafting skills at Wesley Woods, and was involved with Centenary United Methodist Church.
Becky Jo was a dedicated member of the AS chapter of P.E.O., serving as president, holding other leadership positions, and coordinating conventions. Her kind spirit, warm heart, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. There was no project she could not tackle.
Funeral arrangements are being coordinated by Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home in Morristown. Visitation will begin at 5 pm on Wednesday, May 22, with the service following at 7 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Morristown. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 11 am at Emma Jarnagin Cemetery.
