Nancy Lee Harris, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 16, 2024 at her Bean Station home.
Nancy was born on September 21, 1945, in Henderson, NC, to parents Raymond & Pauline Harris. She grew up in Hot Springs, NC and later settled down in Bean Station, TN.
Nancy received her nursing degree & had a long career at Morristown Hamblen Hospital of Morristown, TN. She was known by her colleagues for her loving, caring spirit & made several lifelong friends that she cherished.
Nancy was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Kimberly & Donna, and played a huge part in her four grandson’s lives, Josh, Justin, Shay & Tray.
Nancy was an avid UT VOLS fan and watched as many sporting events as she could. She enjoyed reading, beading, bird watching, gardening, visiting with her family, fishing and had a great love for her pets, Tugger, Tiger, Binx and Kit Kat.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Harris; and stepson, David Harris.
Nancy is survived by her children, Kimberly (Robert) Stevenson, Donna (Jerry) Bigness; seven grandchildren, Josh (Rita) Jarnigan, Justin (Alisha) Jarnigan, Drew Stevenson, Shay Carmichael, Tray Carmichael, Damon Bigness & Dante Bigness; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn (Dalton), Kelsey, Collin, Jayden and Annie; sister, Patricia (Billy & Peyton) Kessinger; nephews, William (Erin) Kessinger, Richard (Megan) Kessinger, Kendall (Angie) Gregg; great nieces & nephews, Will, Jackson, Carter, Makenzie, Reese & Cooper Kessinger, and Kayden Gregg; special friends, Brenda & Gerald, Nick & Makayla, Betty & Charles, Tyler, and many friends, neighbors & colleagues.
Nancy lived her life with a fierce love for her family and those around her. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She will be remembered by her sweet & spunky attitude, her sense of humor and her contagious laugh. Her legacy will continue with the stories she told and memories made. She will be deeply missed by so many.
A private celebration of life will be held for close family, as per the wishes of Nancy.
