Morris Steven "Smokey Joe" Chaney

Morris Steven “Smokey Joe” Chaney, age 77, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dewayne Chaney; parents, Clark David and Beatrice Rippetoe Chaney; brothers, J.C. and Bud Chaney; sisters, Juanita Gregg and Geraldine Jones.

He is survived by his children, Charles and Chris Chaney, Robin, Becky, and Lisa Chaney; companion, Joyce Kerns; sisters, Mary Ann Woods and Daphine Davis; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 3 – 4 P.M. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Jimmy Dodson officiating. Interment will follow at Noes Chapel Church Cemetery.
