Mike is survived by his wife, Effie Hopkins; mother-in-law, Barbara Hopkins; sister-in-law, Wilma “Elaine” (Dustin) Early; special nieces, Elizabeth and Ashlyn Early (who spent a great deal of their childhood “spending the night” with him and Effie); parents, Robert and Brenda Collins; sisters, Vicki (Johnny) Greene, and Misty (Michael) Heck; along with many other family members, friends, neighbors, and his beloved pets who he loved dearly, especially his cat-son, Bubba.
The family would like to say thank you to AllCare who had provided Mike with several wonderful caregivers for many years, and a special thanks to Melissa Mooneyhan and especially, Tina McDaniel who cared for Mike like he was her family.
