Melvin Lee Roach, age 83, of Bean Station passed away on Sunday morning, January 25, 2026 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.
He was a loving father and grandfather. He loved going to the auctions, casino, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison, and Esther; brothers, Wayne Roach and Dean Roach, Sr.; sister, Illa Esther Napier; son, Jimmy Roach; niece, Teresa Napier.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelia Short; step-daughter, Marie (Dale) Solomon; grandchildren, Ashley Irick (Richard) Wolfe, Chris (Michelle) Roach, Daniel (Danie) Short; great-grandchildren, Baylee Roach, Kylee Roach, Brian Roach, Carter Short, Emberlee Short, Kaitly (Dylan) Smith, Jailyn Rickard; all his Panther Creek Auction friends and family.
The family would like to send a heartwarming thank you to the CCU staff at Morristown-Hamblen.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 12 – 2 P.M. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Curtis Seal, Rev. Larry Wolfe and Rev. Kenny Soloman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
