Mary Francis (Shockley) Trent

Mary Francis Trent, age 84, of Bean Station, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Ridge View Terrace of Life Care in Rutledge.  She worked at NCR.

She was a homemaker, loved gardening, working in her flower beds, and spending time with her family.  She also loved her Reese’s cups and cokes.

She was preceded in death by her 3 husbands, John Byrd, Norman Trent, and Bill Trent; 3 children, John Randall Byrd, Debbie Collins, and Michelle Byrd all of Rutledge; parents, Sherwood, and Ema Shockley; brothers, Tip “Bus” Shockley, Roy Shockley, and Robert Shockley; sister, Freda Ostrander.

She is survived by her brother, Lester Shockley; grandchildren, Doug Talley; Rhonda Manley, Dennis Talley, she will greatly be missed by her special granddaughter, Brandi “Brad” Jones, Sarah Hamilton, and Thomas John Byrd; along with several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and other family members and friends.

There will be no services.
