Mary Catherine (Bales) Murray

Mary Catherine Bales Murray, age 88, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at The Heritage Center.  She was a life-long member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she had served as a long-time Sunday School teacher for the Toddlers Class.  Mary loved her Lord, church, family, and loved to laugh.  She retired after many years of caring for young children in daycare facilities.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl C. Murray, Jr.; parents, Lawton and Louise Walker Bales; brothers, J.B. Bales, Clarence “Cump” Bales, and Donnie Bales.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Sandra) Murray; daughters, Teresa (Stan) Harville, and Janet (Kevin) Hinson; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Harville, Courtney Harville, and Kristin Hinson; step-mother and life-long best friend, Willie Bales; brother, Ronnie (Irene) Bales; sister, Wilhemina (Keith) Greenlee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Blanche Murray; sister-in-law, Aileen Foley; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Pleasant View Baptist Church from 5 – 7 P.M.  Funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Brian Rhodes and Dr. Larry Parrott officiating.  Graveside/interment services will be Monday, March 31, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
