Margaret Marie (Greer) Cannon

Margaret Greer Ryan Cannon, age 79, of Morristown, went to her heavenly home Thursday, February 12, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with dementia.  She was a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church and was saved at an early age.  She worked at Shelby Williams and retired from Foamex.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Ryan; mother, Opal Greer; father, Clifford Greer; sisters, Pamela Crawford, and Peggy Greer; brothers, Bobby Greer, Billy (Edna) Greer, and Charlie (Betty) Greer, and Bill Greer; mother and father-in-law, John and Pauline Cannon; brother-in-law, Bill Cannon; and several other family members.

She is survived by her loving husband and care giver of 42 years, Jerry Cannon; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Ryan (Bo) Clonce; sisters-in-law, Judy (Sonny) Taylor, and Phyllis Cannon; step-son, Terry Cannon; step-granddaughter, Abigail Cannon; along with several other family members and friends.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice and her caregivers, Ashley Hammer, Felicia Stewart, and Shirley Brisentine for their loving care.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 2 – 4 p.m. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jones and Rev. Ross Woody officiating.  Family and friends will meet at Hamblen Memory Gardens for a graveside/interment service Monday, February 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
