Linda Newcomb, a beloved widow, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend, gracefully left us on January 1, 2025, in Newport, Tennessee, United States. She was born on February 27, 1948, to Jack and Betty Church. She affectionately was known as “Nanna.”
She was preceded in death by her son, John Curley; parents, Jack and Betty Church; brother, Johnny Church; sister, Lori Pressly.
She is survived by her brothers, Jeff and Mike Church; daughter, Jackie Fox; grandchildren, Josh Fox, Tyler Collier, Adrian Curley, Kasie Collier, Maria Curley, and John Curley, III. Also, along with several great grandchildren she loved very much.
Linda dedicated her career to working at Fort Sanders Hospital as an Echo AKG of the heart for many years until she retired. She was known for her dedication and compassion in her work, she lived a life filled with love and joy. Her spirit will forever remain glowing in the heart of her surviving daughter Jackie fox, Grandchildren. Outside of work, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her best friend Sandi. She was always up for an adventure and loved exploring new places. Linda was a hardworking and caring individual who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She fought bravely against cancer and other unnamed issues until the end. Nanna will be remembered for her nurturing disposition, her comforting presence, and the love she poured into those around her. Her absence will profoundly be felt, but the memories she created will outlast time itself. Her legacy continues through her daughter Jackie, her grandchildren and all those she touched throughout her life.
A memorial service is being planned by the family for a later date.
