Linda Allen Longmire Obituary

Linda (Calfee) Allen Longmire, born September 5, 1947, of Birmingham, Alabama and a former resident of Whitesburg, TN passed away at her home on April 6, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Gail and Helen Greene Calfee; husbands, Edward Scott Allen and Martin Shelling Longmire; sisters, Agnes Yount and Patricia Lindsey.

She is survived by her son, Tony Allen (Teresa) of Birmingham, Alabama; sisters, Velda Shultz and Brenda Campbell (Jay); brother, Eddie Yount (Resa); along with several nieces and nephews.

She attended church at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church in Alabama and remained a member of Living Promise Church in Morristown.

She graduated from Morristown High School in 1966 and attended East Tennessee State University.  She retired from the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs.

She generously gave her time and treasured caring for those she loved.  She enjoyed walking outside and appreciating the beauty of nature.

Due to the Covid restrictions people who wish to pay their respects may come by Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 1 – 4 P.M.  Family and friends will meet Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. for a graveside service at Hamblen Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Matt Westra officiating.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a church or charity of your choosing.
