Joyce (Rickard) Hux

Joyce Rickard Hux, age 87, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026. She was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church and worked at Magnavox.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus L. Hux (R.L.); parents, Dan J., and Vera Rickard; father and mother-in-law, W.A. (Bill) and Elva Hux; sisters, Patsy Morrisett, and Muriel Collins.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Hux (Kevin) Mitchell; granddaughter, Danielle Mitchell; grandson-in-law, Nick Lowe; siblings, June Wilder, Clyde Rickard, David Rickard, Roy Rickard, Linda White, and Keith (Lonna) Rickard; along with several nieces, and nephews that she loved dearly.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their care.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 02, 2026, from 5 – 7 P.M. at Buffalo Trail Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Dr. Keith Mowery officiating. Graveside/interment services will be Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Hamblen Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s research, Buffalo Trail Baptist Church of Morristown, or Gentiva Hospice.
