Joseph Steven Hammond

Joseph Steven Hammond, age 40, passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 30, 2023.  He was saved at a young age at Fountain of Life Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy M. Hammons, Sr; grandparents, Pope and Margaret Hammond; 2 mama’s, Loretta Mabe and Lena Greene Johnson; great-grandmother, Katherine White; uncles, Ricky Mabe, Sr., and Mark Mabe; special cousin, Tommy Hammond.

He is survived by his mother and second dad, Teresa (Gary) Greene; papaw, Lynn Mabe; brothers, Timothy (Amanda) Hammond, Jr. and family, Michael Lee Hammond and family; sisters, Shanna Tilson and family, Amanda Greene(Justin); along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; special friends, Tobie Richardson, Sarah McGee, Kristina Broom, Candrid Covington, Jill Kinsler who helped care for Joe, she was his friend and became family, brother, Michael for always helping no matter how exhausted, Malinda Bishop, Tina Williams, and Melissa Sisk.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 5 – 7 P.M. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Terry Greene and Rev. Jack Greene officiating.
