He grew up and attended school in Milwaukee, WI. graduating from Marquette HS in 1958. Jack continued his education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, earning a degree Electrical Engineering.  He later earned his MBA from Rockford College.

John met Susan Mary Muench at St. Catherine’s of Alexandria Parish in Milwaukee during CYO activities and 4 years later were wed on September 12, 1964. They started their married life stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, where he served as a captain in the Army.  There they welcomed their two eldest children Daniel and Debra. They returned stateside and resided in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, where they were blessed with two more children; William and Angela. It was there that Jack started his 25-year career with Falk/Sundstrand Corporation. His career moved them to Ames, IA and then Rockford, IL where they resided for 45 years. Jack had a second career as an insurance and financial planner with New York Life until retirement.

In 2021 Jack and Susan moved to Morristown, TN to be closer to their adult children.

Jack was a great family man with a love of music, theatre, dancing, and traveling. He shared his love of traveling with his family which included camping across 47 states over the years. His joy of music and dancing led Jack to many years of square dancing and traveling as a caller. Jack enjoyed many hours coaching his kid’s teams and as a referee for soccer and basketball. Jack was also a great supporter of his grandchildren’s education and their biggest sports fan.

His faith and community service were very important in Jack’s life.  He was recognized for his work in Rockford supporting the Boys and Girls Club of America and was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church while there.  He continued his faith journey at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Morristown, TN where he recently became a member of Knights of Columbus.
