Jack Scearce, age 94, born, November 5,1926, of Thorn Hill went to be with Jesus March 31, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He received Jesus as his Savior at the age of 12 at Fairview Methodist Church and later became a member of Old Spruce Pine Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his health prevented it. He served in the US Navy.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny; parents, Lester and Artha Scearce; sisters, Edna Davidson, Edith Evans and Mae Delezene; brother, Raymond Scearce.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Scearce; son, Jerry (Judy) Scearce; daughters, Jackie Dorlch and Shelia Bennett; granddaughters, Alicia and Amanda Scearce, and Monica Pressley; grandsons, Waylon Hunt, Chase Helton, Casey Hunt, Eric McGinnis, Daniel Scearce; brothers, Rhea and Bill Scearce; sisters, Kathryn Coffey and Ginny Roberts; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 2, 2021 from 5 – 7 P.M. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 P.M. with Rev. Robert Mallory and Rev. Ivan Cook officiating. Military/graveside services will be Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Big Hill Cemetery in Mooresburg.
Pallbearers will be, Waylon Hunt, Chase Helton, Casey Hunt, Steve Coffey, Tracy Evans, Donald Scearce, Greg Pressley, Shawn McGinnis.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Randy Carpenter, Gary Ward, Marvin Scearce.
