Obituary

J. Carter Byington, age 75, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital.

He was reunited with his parents, Rob and Rosie Byington; brother, Harley Byington; and his sister, Francis Soper.

He left behind his loving wife, Jennifer Byington; daughter, Dawn Pennington; brother, Hiram Byington and his wife, Ola Byington; sister, Edna Mullins; special granddaughters, Cora Lawson and Madison Strahan; other grandchildren, Kenneth and Kelexis Dennis; other children, Melissa, Leighanne, Larry and Willie McPeak, and Brain Byington; special nephews, Bobby Byington and Shane Mullins; along with several other nieces and nephews; great-grandchildren, Carter Lawson and Elena Burton; mother-in-law, Nina Bowlin; and special friend, Mike “Hammer” Helton.

Graveside/interment services will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Piney Grove Cemetery in Hawkins County.
