Geraldine "Jerry" (Rose) Mantooth

Elsie Geraldine (Jerry) Mantooth, fondly known as Jerry, peacefully passed away early Sunday morning, June 9th, 2024, with her family by her side. Survived by her loving siblings Patsy (Rose) Whitt and husband Elvin (Tincy) Whitt, and brother Tony Rose. She is also survived by her children Mike King (Barbara), Jeff (Pete) King (Jane), and Allan King.

Jerry's family extended beyond blood ties to include her stepchildren, Catie Clement (Bryan), and Ann Horner (Kevin). In addition to her siblings and children, Jerry is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Jerry was born and raised in Grainger County, where she graduated from Rutledge High School. She found solace in her faith and was saved at Avondale Missionary Baptist Church as a child. After relocating to Morristown, she dedicated her career to General Electric, where she worked diligently until her well-deserved retirement.

Jerry found joy in many activities throughout her life, including sewing, arts and crafts, cooking, and creating Christmas candies. However, her greatest source of happiness came from spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought light and laughter into her life.

Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 6-8 pm in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Brandon Brewer officiating.  Graveside/interment service is Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Hamblen Memory Gardens at 1:30 pm.
