Elsie Agnes Bowles, age 79, crossed the Jordan river to unite with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was saved at a young age. Elsie was loved by all who knew her, she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Bowles; three angels, Michael Robin Horner, Ted Ashley “Teddy” Harrell and Christopher Neal Horner; as well as her parents, Joseph Earl and Lula (Rohr) Brooks; brothers, Arnold and Harold Brooks; sisters, Anita “Kay” Chandler and Shirley Faul.
She is survived by her two grandchildren, Amber Dobbins and husband, David, and Jessica Horner; three great-grandchildren, Addyson, Elijah and Cadence; brothers, Richard and Joseph Earl, “J.E.” Brooks, Jr. (Janice); two special nieces, Jeane (David) Fahay and Cindy Kinser; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank Kayli Whittaker, Bryce Bower, Patrick Miner, Aaron Smith, Shirley Brisentine, Kaitlyn Gilliand as well as all the staff at Smoky Mountain Hospice.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 30, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Scott Farmer and Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Graveside/interment service will be Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Courtney Cemetery in St. Clair.
