Edith Orlean Keck Gose, age 102, of Bristol, VA passed away at NHC HealthCare of Bristol. She was a member of Morristown Church of Christ. She grew up in Maynardville, TN. She was best known for her kindness and good deeds. She served as a Pink Lady for Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare for fifty years and was active in the Grainger County Lady’s Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Mary Alice Keck; sisters, Anna Lou Keck who died at the age of 9, Nanny Cook and her husband and son, Ester and her husband, Lath Wyrick.
Edith had four children; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Gene was born in 1937 and passed in 2010; leaving behind his wife, Doris and children, Mark, Rhonda and Tracy and their children.
Edith found the land for Norris Industries which was built by her sons, Gene and Jim Gose.
James “Jim” Gose is her second born. He is married to Sarah Arnold Gose since 1962. They have two children, Joan and Jay Gose. Joan is married to Jim Trolinger and they live in Alabama. Jay has two sons by his deceased wife, Linda. Jimmy, who just graduated from ETSU and David Gose.
Dr. Daris Gose, her third born, is a teacher at Walter State and she has a daughter, Elaine who lives in Knoxville.
Mary Ruth Gose is her forth born and lives in Bristol, TN where her two daughters and their families live. Laura and Blake Bassett have two daughters, Blakesley and Alie Bassett and Edie and Jason Cannon who have two children, Preston and Parker. All four of Mary’s grandchildren are in college. Edith has resided with Mary for the last nine years of her life.
Friends may call at their convenience on Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. Blaine Kelly officiating. Family and friends will meet at Big Barron Cemetery in Maynardville, TN for a 2:30 P.M. graveside/interment service.
