David Eugene Phillips

David Eugene Phillips, age 61, departed this life at Ft. Sanders Hospital in Knoxville after battling pneumonia and dementia on Saturday, August 24, 2024.  He has now entered his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his beloved family, whom he missed and long for that have passed on before him.  He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his loved ones left behind along with his church family.  He loved going to church and hearing the preaching of God’s word and attended Faith Baptist Church.  Praise be to God, for his mercy and grace in delivering him from his pain and suffering.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Bonnie Phillips; sisters, Linda Sue and Brenda Kay Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Barbara Phillips.

He is survived by his aunt, Carolyn Holt; niece, Rachel Clabough and husband, Sean; along with several cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 1-2 P.M. at Faith Baptist Church in Morristown.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Don Lamb officiating. Interment will follow at Heath’s Chapel Cemetery in Grainger County.
