Chuckie Ray Long, age 45, of Whitesburg, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 at his home. He was saved at an early age at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Parkway Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Reed; father, John Long; brother, Johnathan Long; father-in-law, Mark Tiny Harbin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Cathy Long; sons, Ethan Long, Mark Melton, Blake Melton, and Luke Melton; grandchildren, David Melton, Rayleigh Long, Madison Boamah, Benjamin Melton, and Nevaeh Melton; sisters, Amy Crabill, Johnnie Long, and April (Ben) Speer; brother-in-law, Rodney (Leka) Williams; special niece, Kakisha Artica; and several other nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Debbie Williams, daughter-in-law, Brandi Melton; special friends, Danny Ivy, Josh Adkins, and Punky Sawyer.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 5-7 P.M. at Parkway Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Elkins and Rev. Troy White officiating. Graveside/interment services will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
