Charles W. “Bill” Burgin, age 86, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at The Heritage Center.
He was a dear husband to his late wife, Joyce, for 61 years, father, and grandfather, and great-grandfather. He attended Sunrise Baptist Church for 30 years. Bill was a life long avid farmer and enjoyed raising cattle and tending to his land. He took pride in being president of the Hamblen County Livestock Association for many years; and he was devoted to the Lord and his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Burgin; parents, Rev. Charlie Fred and Rosalee Burgin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Della and Wallace Baxter.
He is survived by his sons, Gary “Lisa” Burgin, Larry “Gina” Burgin, all of Morristown; brother, Joe ‘Mary” Burgin; grandchildren, April Grindstaff, Ashley Burgin, Brandon Burgin, Christy Jones, Tiffany Burgin, Destinee Hurley; great-grandchildren, Ethan Grindstaff, Ryland Grindstaff, Daegan Burgin, Layna Burgin, Phoenix Hurley, Rylee Hurley, Alivia Hurley; niece and nephews, Sandra, John and Scott; and so many cherished friends, to many to count.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet Monday, March 31, 2025 at 12:45 P.M. at Bethesda Cemetery for a 1:00 P.M. graveside/interment service with his son, Rev. Larry Burgin officiating.
