Charity Ruth (CR) Drinnon Templin, 89, of Morristown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at The Serenity House. Ruth was a devoted member of Fairfield Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she formed lifelong friendships and touched many with her unwavering faith. She was saved at an early age at Chinquepin Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Sneedville. She spent her career at Sterchi’s, Parks-Belk, Lincoln Income Life Insurance, Averitt Express, before retiring from Hurley’s Heat and Air. Ruth found joy in tending her yard and vegetable garden, and her warmth as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was a blessing to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Templin; her grandson, John-Alan Templin; her parents, Taylor Henry and Eddie Seal Drinnon, Sr.; her sisters, Birdie Wilson and Virgie Thompson; and her infant brother, George Tyler Drinnon.
She is survived by her children, Alan (Candy) Templin and Becky (Chris) Lowe; grandchildren, Travis, Brent, and Sean (fiancé, Mariah) Bible, and Isaac Templin; great-grandchild, Andrew Bible; step-great-grandchild, Dawson Lowe; step-grandchildren, Christopher (Abby), and Cameron Lowe; her sister, Sue Hayes; and her brother, Henry “Jr.” (Delores) Drinnon. Ruth’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Fairfield Baptist Church from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Helton officiating. Graveside/interment service will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Fairfield Baptist Church, The Serenity House.
