Barbara B. Chandler, age 92, of Knoxville, formerly of Morristown, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021.
She was preceded in death by husband, Mack Chandler, Jr., her parents, and son-in-law, J. Michael Lusk.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine Dukes (Denny), Knoxville, and Linda Chandler, Chattanooga, and son, John Chandler of Greeneville; three grandchildren and one great grandson.
She was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Morristown for most of her adult life. She and Mack were very active in its ministries over the years and loved the church dearly.
After retirement from Provident Insurance in Chattanooga, Barbara and Mack moved back to Morristown, where she volunteered at Lakeway Regional Hospital and the Morristown-Hamblen Library for over 20 years, two “jobs” which gave her much joy and sense of purpose. She loved travel and cherished her memories of trips to Europe, Scandinavia, the British Isles, and a special D-Day memorial trip.
The family will have a private burial, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Breakthrough of Knoxville, 900 E. Hill Avenue, #145, Knoxville, TN 37915, or to Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Morristown.
Arrangements by Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.
