Barbara Isenberg Bible, of Morristown, TN, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on August 24, 2025. A native of Sevierville, TN, was born on October 9, 1938. Barbara was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Morristown, TN.
She was married to the love of her life, Raymond Edward Bible, for 65 years.
Barbara graduated from the University of Tennessee on June 5, 1960. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Sweetheart of Alpha Tau Omicron Fraternity, and a 1959 Vol Beauty. She continued her love for UT and ADPi by donating the Upstairs Study Lounge in the new sorority house. Barbara was the Chair of the Carson-Newman College Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Board, 1995 - 1997. She was awarded the Carson-Newman Family and Consumer Science (FCS) Distinguished Service Award in 1996, established four endowment scholarships for that department, and sponsored the faculty enrichment program for that department. Most recently, she was named the Carson Newman University FCS Advisory Board Member Emerita. Barbara received the Girls Inc. Della Jeffers Merlin Special Friend award in 1999 and was inducted into the Girls Inc. Women’s Hall of Fame in 2003. She was a longtime member of the Girls Inc. 100 Club. Barbara was a member and past president of the Soma Sala Federated Women’s Club. She served as a Trustee at Walters State Community College and was a co-founder of the Equestrian Complex at the Walters State Expo Center.
Barbara loved her Church, her family, and her flowers. Barbara taught Sunday school, Bible School, and served on various church committees. She spent time daily in her large flower gardens and arranged flowers over the years for many weddings and other celebrations. She loved to travel with her husband and her family. Barbara once said she wanted “I drove a lot” printed on her gravestone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gean and Ernestine Isenberg of Sevierville, TN.
She is survived by daughters, Gean Ann (Tim) Sing, Kathryn (Scott) Moore; son, Edward Bible; grandchildren, Ashley (Toby) Kirkland, Allison (Chris) Moody, Blake Bible; great grandchildren, Toby Kirkland III, Luke Kirkland, Addison Moody, Colton Moody; cousin, Ann Dickerson; lifelong family friend, Mary (Pete) Riley; adopted daughter, Patricia (Punky) Clark.

Graveside/interment service will be Wednesday, 27, 2025 at 3 pm at Bethesda Cemetery. A Celebration of life will follow at a later date.
