Ruth Hess Wilson of Morristown, TN born September 9th, 1939, to John and Rose Hess in Wynne Arkansas passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 8th, 2025.
Ruth was a strong independent woman, and a successful long time business owner of Wilson Sav Mor Drugstore located in Newport, TN.
She had a great sense of humor, very quick wit and generously helped others.
She would say her greatest pride and accomplishment was as a single mom raising her five girls that she loved fiercely.
She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and a member of St Patrick's Church since the 1960s.
She was a proud member of the Morristown and Gatlinburg Elks becoming the first female Morristown Elks member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Hess; six brothers, Albert, Gilbert, Paul, Billy, Raymond, and Bobby Hess; four sisters, Clara Hylle, Rose Marie Long, Agnes Sorce and Margaret Boeckmann; and her beloved husband, Lowell Miller, whom she met later in life.
She leaves behind her five babies, Jennifer "Jinger" Wilson (Don Quilliams), Amy Murphy (Billy), Laura Trent (Jeff), Lexi Henry (Jamie) and Erika Angelos (Dino); her precious five grand boys, she was so proud of, Brandon Trent, Matthew Trent, Weston Trent, Thomas Angelos and Alexander Angelos; her beloved sisters, Betty Buergler and Dot Dettlinger; countless special nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and her precious fur babies, Rocky and Queenie.
The family offers it sincerest thanks and appreciation to the wonderful hard-working team with Regency Senior Living, Caris Hospice, Holly's Helping Hands and Senior Citizens Home Assistance. Ruth had wonderful caregivers, nurses, personal sitters, and they quickly became part of her extended family.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 15th at St Patrick's Catholic Church Morristown, 10 a.m. to 12:00 P.M. with Mass service, inurnment, and reception to follow.
Tributes in honor of Ruth can be made to your local humane society or your favorite charity.
