Alice Fay Short Harville, age 81, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Christmas morning, December 25, 2025 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was a member of Lakeshore Missionary Baptist Church; and was retired from Wal-Mart.
She was a loving mother to her family, friends, and everyone she knew. She retired from Wal-Mart at the age of 76, she made many friends there and loved them dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Harville; parents, Danie and Sarah Carpenter Short; brothers, Clay, Clarence, Joe, Max, Bill, Jim, Charles Short; sisters, Margaret Clevenger, and Shirley Newman; grandson, Rodney Lackey; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Harville.
She is survived by her children, who she loved dearly, Ricky (Melinda) Harville, Tammy (Robbie) Lackey, Margaret (David) Brady, Dale (Christina) Harville, Stacy Harville, Faye (Chuck) Hurley; nephew, Danny Clevenger (who she raised as her own); grandchildren, Josh, Matt, and Casey Newman, Leslie Kuykendall, Alisha Fisher, Mark Lackey, Chris, Ryan, and Connor Hurley, Tabitha Crum, Mirand Sheys, and Elizabeth Mowell; many great-grandchildren; special cousin, Lossie Massey and Rosi; along with several other family members and her friends at Wal-Mart.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and her nurse, Emma.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Wolfenbarger officiating. Graveside/interment service will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Singleton Cemetery in Thorn Hill.
