Ada Mae Clevenger, 85, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025. She was surrounded by love which reflects the love she showed to others all her life. She was married to her best friend William (Bill) Royce Clevenger for 61 years who she adored. They had two children, Timothy Royce Clevenger and Cindy (Clevenger) Franklin.
Our mother was known for being the caretaker of the family as well as for her neighbors and friends. She shared her love through cooking meals and making jewelry to warm the bellies and hearts of those she met. She loved gardening and enjoyed being outside in the yard working with her flowers and small vegetable gardens. She was always waiting for you with a smile and a hug and you never got away without an “I love you.”
Mom made friends easily but there were special friends in her later years that were very close to her: Donna Newman, Ruth Laico, Adam Brady and John Miller. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for loving on Mom and being her friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Williams Royce Clevenger; parents, Oscar and Leva Wells; sisters Pauline Cole and Janice Wise; brothers, Lawrence Wells, Ralph Wells, Willie Wells, Warren Wells, Oscar Jr. Wells, Buddy Wells, Hascal Wells and Henry Wells.
She is survived by her son Tim (Tommye) Clevenger; daughter Cindy (Tom) Franklin; grandchildren Ryan (Cailey) Clevenger, Sara (Kyle) Miller, Tyler (Kera McCann) Zoladz; great grandchildren Elizabeth Zoladz, Brock Gregory, Quinn and Caden Clevenger, Myla Grace Zoladz (due in February) and her brother Bruce (Pauline) Wells.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 15, 2025 from 12 – 2 p.m. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Jarnagin Cemetery.
