William (Bill) Royce Clevenger, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at his home surrounded by family. He lived courageously and shared a wonderful loving life with his wife of 61 years, Ada Clevenger.
From 1954 – 1956, Bill served in the 62nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion for the United States Army and was stationed in Mannheim, Germany. He spent over 30 years in the furniture industry with Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company overseeing operations in Morristown and Livingston, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Clyde and Essie (Kyker) Clevenger, brothers Ernest, Stanley, and sisters Mary and Georgia.
William is survived by his wife Ada Clevenger, son Tim (Tommye) Clevenger, daughter Cindy (Tom) Franklin, grandchildren Ryan (Cailey Kosh) Clevenger, Tyler Zoladz, Sara Zoladz, great-grandchildren Elizabeth Zoladz and Brock Gregory, sister, Ina Ball along with a multitude of extended family and friends. He was well loved by all who had the honor of knowing him.
We were blessed by having the sweetest, kindest all-around best husband and father you could ask for. He was a true gentleman to the end. The night before he passed he told his loving wife of 61 years that he would go with a heart full of love from his family and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 22, 2019 from 5 – 7 P.M. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.
